OUR MISSION

Our mission is to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission by going into the world to make disciples of all nations. We strive to lead people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We are committed to teaching and equipping believers to follow His commands and grow in their faith.

We are people who Love God, Love People, and Serve Others. Our desire is for everyone to take their next step of faith, no matter what that step is, and we are prepared to help you do just that. Our Elders and ministers are 100% unified behind this vision, and our desire is to reach as many people as the Lord would have us to reach so the Kingdom of Christ is strengthened in every way.

We highly value our relationships with one another. We look to grow through fellowship, and ultimately growing closer to God. We value the word of God, and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We look to extend grace to all of the lost and broken, and lead those with no hope to the hope of Jesus Christ.

OUR HISTORY

SMALL BEGINNINGS

  1. Founded in 1971, Herb Owens served as the first preaching minister.
  2. Services were held at the Vero Beach Women's Club until the church building on 20th Ave was completed in 1973.
  3. The church purchased the Oslo road property in 1997 and held services in the new building on March 16, 2008.
  4. The second phase of the new building included adding an East and West wing and was completed in August of 2019.

Steve Jones

Preaching Minister

Steve Jones became our preaching minister in November of 2006. He has been in ministry for more than 30 years. He loves reading, and spending time with his grand children.

Kent Drake

Executive & Worship Minister

Kent brings over 30 years of experience in local church ministry to Vero Christian Church. His wife, Susan has deep roots in our congregation, having grown up here. We are grateful to have the Drakes as part of our church family and are blessed by Kent’s leadership and service on our team.

Scott Blount

Associate Minister

Scott has served as an associate minister at VCC since 2000. Married to the wonderful Peggy Blount, they have three grown children and eight grandchildren. College basketball is his favorite sport to watch (go, KY Wildcats). It is his most sincere desire to help everyone love God, love people and serve others!

Ryne Hrusovsky

Family Minister

Ryne grew up in Vero Beach, graduated from Master’s Academy, and earned a degree in Preaching and Church Leadership from Johnson University. He brings valuable experience from working with students and small groups in two large churches. Ryne will be working closely with our students and their families while also overseeing our Children’s Ministry alongside Connie Richberg.

Children's Ministry Assistant

Connie brings extensive experience and a passion for children’s ministry to our team. She coordinates scheduling and lesson planning for VCCKids, our vibrant Sunday morning program designed to help children grow in their faith and love for Jesus.

Financial Ministry Assistant

Lou Ann is our Financial Ministry Assistant and the longest-serving member of our staff. She diligently manages the church’s finances and accounting, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes each day.

Andree Peters

Ministry Assistant

Andree, a retired nurse, is dedicated to keeping our prayer list current and maintaining the church database. She also assists the ministers with various tasks and functions, playing a vital role in supporting the overall ministry of Vero Christian Church.
