OUR BELIEFS/LEADERSHIP

JESUS CHRIST

 

Jesus Christ is at the center of everything. We believe that Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

 

THE TRINITY

 

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

 

THE BIBLE

 

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is our sole source for our faith and practices. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.

 

THE SEPARATION

 

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

 

THE RECONCILIATION

 

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and a fresh start with God, we must believe God's Word (the Bible), repent of our sins, confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, be baptized by immersion into Christ, and live the life God planned for us from the beginning.

 

THE CHURCH

 

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet weekly together. The Church is God's Kingdom here on earth.

Tim Winans Vero Christian Church in Vero Beach, FL

Tim Winans

Elder/Chairman

Tim worked for the Illinois Dept of Corrections for 30 years and retired after working as a Supervisor in the business office. He has been a member of VCC for 13 years and has served as an elder for 8 years.

Tom Deibel Vero Christian Church in Vero Beach, FL

Tom Deibel

Elder/Vice Chairman

Tom has been a member of VCC for 16 years and has served as an elder for 8 years. He retired from General Motors in 2006 after 30 years as a press operator.

Steve Barlow Vero Christian Church in Vero Beach, FL

Steve Barlow

Elder/Treasurer

Steve was a licensed aircraft mechanic for Piper Aircraft for 25 years. He also obtained his pilots license while working for Piper. He has been retired since 2013. Steve has been a member of VCC for over 50 years and he's served as an elder for 48 years.

Rhaul Watson Vero Christian Church in Vero Beach, FL

Rhaul Watson

Deacon

 

Rhaul is a union-certified carpenter and ran his own framing company for 15 years. He recently retired after serving as a construction superintendent for 20 years with various companies. Rhaul has been a member at VCC for 5 years and leads our Facilities Ministry Team.

Danny Strickland

Deacon

 

Danny was born in Indiana and raised here in Vero Beach. He was baptized at VBS at age 14 and joined VCC two years ago. Danny is actively involved in our Sunday morning Life Group and serves faithfully on multiple teams, including Buildings & Grounds, First Impressions, and our Safety Crew.

He works for Barker Air Conditioning and brings a strong background in plumbing and irrigation—skills that have already blessed our church in many practical ways.

Tim Shuler

Deacon

 

Tim was raised in a non-denominational church in Ohio before moving to Florida in 2018. He became a member of Vero Christian Church and was re-baptized in January 2020. Tim has been active in the life of our church, serving wherever needed, participating in three different Life Groups.

He currently serves as a Certified Flight Instructor in Fort Pierce and Stuart.
